Production Shop Floor

Additive Manufacturing (AM) shop floor operations are crucial for production results. To leverage the benefits of the technology, AM requires a different way of thinking about production. In this highly interactive training "Production Shop Floor" production managers, shift leaders, shift planners, data processors, logisticians, quality engineers, and safety experts will learn how to operate Additive Manufacturing Machines and auxiliaries Participants will learn to identify and adhere to safety aspects relevant to working with the AM system. Participants will conduct all relevant steps for the physical preparation and post-processing of the equipment and perform specific setup tasks on additive manufacturing machines. They will be trained to operate and adjust the AM system, monitor the process steps (start phase, build phase, end phase), and ensure their proper execution. Additionally, they will learn to recognize and resolve any issues that may arise during operation, interpret sensor data, and manage and order maintenance for the equipment.

Furthermore, participants will identify and compare the relevant mechanical, thermal, and chemical steps required for post-processing based on the material and part geometry, such as milling, blasting, electropolishing, grinding, and heat treatment. They will learn to separate the part from the build platform, remove support structures, and evaluate manufacturing processes based on surface quality and tolerances (e.g., CNC machining). Lastly, they will derive geometries for transport packaging and select an appropriate method and environmentally friendly materials for this purpose.
