As quantum computing technology continues to develop, early adoption and exploration of quantum solutions will be essential to ensure the industry is prepared to harness its full potential. Applied quantum research that bridges theory and practical implementation plays a key role in this process.
To support this, the Hamburg Fraunhofer CML, Fraunhofer IAP, Fraunhofer IAPT, and Fraunhofer ITMP established the virtual organization "Fraunhofer Industry Application Center Quantum Computing Hamburg (Fraunhofer IQHH)." Through IQHH, four key industrial applications were identified, and suitable quantum algorithms were successfully developed and executed on both simulators and actual quantum computers.
The four use cases belong to four different business areas:

▪ Discovery of pharmaceuticals
