No specific educational background is required for an apprenticeship. Typically, our trainees have an intermediate school leaving certificate, a secondary school qualification or A-levels.
Are you passionate about your subject area, but ran out of steam during your time at university? - If you would like more practical experience in science, an apprenticeship at Fraunhofer IAPT may be the right decision for you as a university dropout.
Your vocational training will take place at our Fraunhofer facility in Hamburg Bergedorf. Our on-site trainers work in the thick of the action themselves and are experts in their field. It goes without saying that your trainers will have passed the trainer aptitude test. In addition to practical skills, they will provide you with the necessary specialist knowledge and interdisciplinary skills.
You will receive a training allowance during your training. In the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the provisions of the collective agreement for trainees in the public sector apply. There is also a fixed amount for learning materials.
At the Beruflichen Schule für Stahl- und Maschinenbau (BS04) at Berliner Tor, you will learn the necessary theory for your future career and build up a network in the process. In close consultation with your trainers, the content of the vocational school and practical experience will ideally fit together.
A successful apprenticeship at Fraunhofer is an excellent basis for your further professional development: for example, in one of the more than 60 institutes and administrative locations of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft or as a qualified specialist in various companies and industries.
After your apprenticeship, you can also take the trainer aptitude test and become a trainer yourself.
Obtaining a higher school-leaving qualification or further training, such as a technician or business administrator, is also conceivable after the apprenticeship. A subsequent degree course or dual study program can also be an interesting option for your future career path. During your studies, you can work for us as a student assistant.
